Diabla

Who am I? I started Diabla, I write songs and I run this webpage. Oh, and I'm also the singer of the band. My artist name "Beatrix*, was given to me by bass player Morten, and ex-guitarist Stig. It's very practical, because most people who are not Norwegian have no clue how to pronounce my real name, and I always use the star in my signature, because I think it looks good.

I'm kind of a hippie. I love summer evenings and hanging out with friends. I like people who say "How are you" and really mean it. People who are not shallow, and that you can discuss anything with. I have a temper, but I like to make people happy. I like the good things in life, but I also care about others and what's going on in the world. I belong in the city, or close to it, but like most Norwegians, I need to get out and enjoy the wilderness once in a while.

I don't care what gender, race, religion or nation you belong to, as long as you are not a fanatic. To me, "Diabla", which means "She-Devil", is about being strong, having your own will and mind, enjoying life, taking no s**t, and standing up for what's right. Diabla has nothing to do with satanism.

Mozart, Vivaldi, King Diamond, Jane's Addiction, Dalbello, Smashing Pumpkins, Mew, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol, AC/DC, Hanoi Rocks, Amorphis, Pain, Indian, Middle Eastern, Norwegian and Swedish folk music, Backstreet Girls, Tom Petty, bands like Aerosmith, Def Leppard and Metallica before they became repetitive and boring, lots of pop music from the eighties, like Duran Duran and Simple Minds, and some dance music like Lady Gaga, Robyn, David Guetta etc.

I'm not true metal. I'm a rocker, but I don't care about the genre if it's a good song. Nobody can tell me what to like, and everyone knows I hate political correctness when it comes to music.
